to the Holy Quran
Allah Ta'ala
created man and sent the Prophets for his perfect guidance and and
revealed books to them. The Holy Qur'an is the last reveled book that Allah revealed
to the Holy Prophet.

meaning and significance of the Holy Quran
The word
Qur'an is derived from the word "Quran" which means "to
read" and it is the most widely read book. That is why it is called Quran.
Definition
of Holy Quran
The last
heavenly book of Allah that was revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

language and verses of the Holy Quran
The Holy
Quran was revealed in Arabic language and the number of its verses is six
thousand six hundred and sixty six (6666).
The first
and last revelation
The first
revelation of the Holy Qur'an " اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ " (1) was revealed in the cave of Hira and these were the
first five verses of Surah Al-Alaq, while the last revelation was " اَلْيَوْمَ
اَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِيْنَكُمْ " Surah Al-Maidah verse number 3

period
The period
of revelation of Holy Quran is about twenty three (23) years.
Makki
Period
The period
from the beginning of Islam to Hijra is called the Makki period. Eighty-six (86)
surahs were revealed in it. This is about thirteen (13) years.
Madani
period
The period
from the time of Hijra to the departure of the Prophet (PBUH) is called the
Madani period. Twenty-eight (28) surahs were revealed during this period. This
is about ten (10) years.

Quran is the book of Allah Almighty which was revealed to the Holy Prophet ﷺ. His teachings are for doomsday and will always be under the
